Another Fall Festival has come and gone. The weather was perfect for all of the activities, and all who came had fun. A problem we’ve had in previous years was not enough volunteers, but not this year. Volunteers came to work and most checked in at the new Volunteer Welcome Table; which was a success and will definitely be back next year. Throughout the day people stopped to see if we needed more help.
The festival was a success because parishioners came to the weekend and bought/sold raffle tickets.
The final numbers are still coming in but the tally so far is looking good. Other numbers to be proud of: 114 runners & walkers for the 5K Run/Walk, 64 pieces of art for the art show, 27 chairpersons, 108 donors to the raffle, live & silent auction, 5K run/walk and overall festival, 407 people served at the dinner, 65 cakes won at cake walk, around 300 volunteers and many people who donated pies, bars, country store items, meat donations, cakes, pop and water, and 100’s of people who enjoyed the weekend.
Thanks go out to the Boy Scouts that helped with the 5K Run/Walk course management and for selling Culver’s custard (thanking the parish for letting them use the facilities) all proceeds went to the Parish. And also a big thanks to the Knights of Columbus for donating all of their time with the Saturday Night Concessions as well as the Dinner. Both groups helped make the Festival a success.
A follow up meeting was held on October 6th to discuss what went right and what went wrong. We are always looking for more chairpersons; it is our goal to have at least two for each event. The first official meeting for next year’s festival will be in April or May, if you want to be on the 2010 Fall Festival Committee please give Beth Bauer a call at 873-6078 to discuss where you’d like to work. Watch the bulletin for future meetings.

We are excited to be displaying this year’s 4th Annual Fall Festival Art Show in the Gathering Area at St. Ann Parish, rather than in the Fall Festival tent. This will allow us to showcase artwork and poetry in natural lighting, present the work for a longer period of time, and, ultimately, reach a larger audience. The Art Show will be on display in the Gathering Area from Saturday, September 12th through Sunday, September 20th 2009.

The 2009 St. Ann Fall Festival is taking shape. All events have chairpersons that have been working to make this year’s festival a success.
A few things have changed this year, first off the 4th Annual Art Show will be on display in the Gathering Area from September 12-20th. The Beer tent is being moved to Saturday night, and the Live Auction is back to Sunday.
The 5K Run/Walk chairpersons are hoping for another great year, packet pickup will be on Wed., the 16th from 5-7. Registration will be Saturday 9/19 at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 8:30.
The Beer tent will officially open after the 5:15 mass on Saturday, 9/19. Families are welcome to come and eat, all minors are required to be off the premises by 8 p.m. There is a larger menu for the concessions at the beer tent this year, sure to be something for everyone.
Sunday morning will start with the 8 a.m. and 10:30 masses. Many of the events will begin at 9 a.m. including, Country Store, Live and Silent Auction items on display, outside concessions. Beginning at 10:30 the games and inflatables will be open. 11 is the start of the Sit-Down Grilled Chicken dinner and Antique car rides. The Cake Walk will begin at Noon. The Live Auction will start at 1:30 p.m., Silent Auction bidding will end at 3 p.m. with winners announced at 3:30. The Art Show winners will be announced at 3:15 under the tent. THE RAFFLE PRIZE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT 4:15 P.M.

Respect for Life Ministry June Feature: CareNet
Please take a moment after Mass to view the new Respect for Life Ministry poster in the gathering area. We are featuring CareNet this month in honor of Father’s Day.
CareNet’s Mission: We are a caring network of resources dedicated to equip, empower and support women and men to CHOOSE LIFE for their unborn children and to make wise life choices for themselves and their families. With loving compassion, we minister to those affected by abortion and share with all the hope, forgiveness and peace found in a personal relation ship with Jesus Christ.
The Baby Bottle Campaign begins in local churches, businesses and organizations on Mother’s Day. Please consider making a donation in the Baby Bottle. The money helps Care Net Pregnancy Center provide hope and support to women and men affected by an unplanned pregnancy.
Happy Father’s Day from the Respect for Life Ministry.
